Election Day — November 3, 2026

Running for A
Better Oklahoma

Joe is running to ensure that Oklahoma’s government works for everyday people rather than just those at the top, rooted in the belief that our state is at its best when we lift each other up and provide every family with a fair shot at a good life where no one is left behind.

What We're Fighting For

🏥

Affordable Healthcare

Many working families in District 75 have coverage but can't afford their deductibles or prescriptions. Joe will push for state-level caps on essential medications like insulin and inhalers, and a Patient Bill of Rights to end surprise billing. No Oklahoman should choose between their prescriptions and their rent.

🏠

Affordable Housing

Joe will modernize Oklahoma's Housing Trust Fund with a State-Local Match that doubles the impact of local housing programs in Tulsa. Combined with Right to Counsel legislation giving tenants legal representation in eviction court, this plan stabilizes our community and treats housing as a public health issue.

🏫

Public Education

Public tax dollars belong in public classrooms. Joe will fight to stop further private school voucher expansion and redirect those funds to increase pay for bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and classroom aides — the people who keep our neighborhood schools running every single day.

Energy Independence

Oklahoma leads in wind energy, but state rules make it hard for homeowners to benefit. Joe will protect net metering so solar owners are paid fairly by utilities, and push for tax credits on home battery storage and EV charging infrastructure — lowering bills and creating good-paying green jobs.

🥬

Fresh Food Access

Large parts of East Tulsa are classified as food deserts where residents rely on convenience stores for groceries. Joe will create a Healthy Food Financing Initiative providing grants and tax breaks to local grocers and community-led urban farms — because everyone in District 75 deserves access to fresh, healthy food.

Rooted in Tulsa

Joe Watkins

Joe Watkins was born at Saint Francis and grew up in Midtown Tulsa. As the eldest son of two small business owners, Joe often assisted his mother with office work or could be found in his father’s woodworking shop, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.

No stranger to hard work, Joe got his first job at 14. After graduating from Memorial High, he worked at QuikTrip, advancing from an entry-level role to management and then to a corporate IT Specialist. In 2021, Joe decided to return to his roots by revitalizing Wood Dimensions Co., his father's former woodworking business.

Joe co-founded the From Heart to Hand Outreach, a program where he personally collects and delivers essential supplies to Tulsans living on the streets. He also serves on the leadership team of the Forum for Real Economic Emancipation (F.R.E.E), a non-profit group focused on economic opportunity and community development.

A dedicated husband and father, Joe and his wife, Jenny, are raising their son with their three rescue dogs in the community he is running to represent. He knows what hardworking families are going through; he is living it. Joe believes that hard-working people deserve a representative who truly understands their lives. Most people feel like nobody at the Capitol is really listening to them; Joe aims to change that.

Joe is running for State House because he thinks families in Oklahoma are doing everything right and still struggling to get ahead. Groceries cost more, rent keeps rising, and healthcare feels completely out of reach for some. Joe wants to fight for those families.
